Junior English is structured in a project-based learning format. Through a curriculum that reflects a variety of perspectives, world views, and cultures, students will develop the skills needed to meet state standards in close reading, analysis, writing for a variety of purposes, and communication (both listening and speaking). Students will learn to make strategic use of technology to access information and share their learning. Units will focus on developing students’ outside reading and research skills throughout the year, and participation in independent and collaborative projects designed for authentic audiences is required.
